This November TV sweeps period may feature a myriad of changes with Fox 4, KCTV and KSHB without executives in key positions.
But the results are just about the same as in the sweeps periods from years past and not likely to change much going forward.
KMBC, the ABC affiliate, is leading at every key news period from morning till night after eight days of the 20-day November sweeps. Election night coverage should give the Hearst-owned station another bump going forward.

MISLEADING HEADLINE
Wow, talk about a misleading headline. There biggest lead is 2 shares? I don’t call that dominating at all. It’s a solid book, but oh my, the numbers for their news have fallen so much.
Why are you not showing WDAF’s 9pm numbers? There is real money in that show. Also how about some comparison’s to a year ago or even 7 years ago. From where I sit, WDAF is having a decent book as they are in second in most time periods and I bet if you compare their 9pm numbers with the 10pm, they could be close second there as well. Most markets will do that comparison. Why? Primetime lead-ins to the news. If those numbers hold across the board for WDAF, wow, they will make a ton more money than any other station because of the # of hours of news they do.
If you are going to write about tv and ratings do some homework and do it correctly. Until then I will be your critic on it.
When a TV station is leading at every news period from 4:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. I consider that “dominating.” If you want to parse how much KMBC is leading during each period be my guest.
And comparing 9 p.m. numbers when only Fox 4 has a newscast at that time is just plain silly. Maybe you should do some homework.
KMBC AT 9 P.M.?
John, doesn’t KMBC do a newscast at 9pm? Oh yea, they do! Also why the 4:30am numbers and not the 5am, which are way more important size of audience and dollars? Also why not 7-9am when KMBC also does a newscast? 7-9am is a rating and money goldmine.
I guess you need to do your “homework” on the 9pm newscasts!
John, I’m more than happy to challenge you on your so called “reporting” of ratings.
First, if you are so knowledgeable why don’t you produce the numbers for other time periods?
Secondly, you lost all credibility when you said KMBC has a newscast at 9 p.m. Their sister station KCWE does a newscast at 9, but that is completely different than KMBC. Over and out.
BEATING DEAD HORSE
I agree that the 9pm news on KCWE and KSMO are on different channels… However, they are the SAME news cast direct from KMBC & KCTV… So they in effect are NOT different, just shown on affiliated channels… this should be noted.
Lastly, KCTV LAST again in the morning… this new couple and amble are AWFUL !!!!!!!!!
