KMBC’s efforts to become younger took a giant step with the announcement that Kisha Henry has joined the Kansas City affiliate as its latest anchor/reporter.
She will start in March at the Hearst-owned station and jump 14 media markets.
KMBC has seen the recent departure of veterans Larry Moore, Joel Nichols and Lisa Teachman. On the other hand Henry will join relative newcomers Neville Miller and Nick Bender (LINK).
TV Spy noted Henry announced on Twitter, “I’ll be going home in March! I’ve accepted an anchor/reporter position w/ KMBC in KC! Big thank u to all of u who made OKC home for me.”
Henry, a 2010 graduate at the University of Central Missouri who was married last April in Kansas City, currently works at Fox’s KOKH as a weekend anchor until Feb. 26.
She began her TV career in Southeast Iowa for three months and was also with KTVO in Kirksville, MO for eight months.
WILL REPLACE CHO
Will take Cho replacement who’s contract is up and going to Texas.
Harrison should replace Cho and Henry Anchor with Flener and McDonnell at 5 and 9 with Ackerman or with Currie.
