Quentin Tarantino

Quinton Tarintino has done literally hundreds of media interviews plugging his uber-violent movies.

Tarantino feels he can preach to the public on the evils of slavery and other topics at will. But, don’t even question if the gratuitous violence in his films such as “Reservoir Dogs,” “Kill Bill,” “Pulp Fiction” or “Django Unchained,” “Inglourious Basterds” leads to violence in society.

Then Tarintino comes across as a spoiled brat. (He starts to unravel at the 4:43 mark below)

He did an interview on NPR and when that topic arose and jumped all over Terry Gross, who promptly backed down. However, with British TV news reporter, Krishnan Guru-Murthy, for Britain’s Channel 4, the bullying tactic didn’t work.

“Tarantino bristled when asked to explain his thoughts about whether movie violence can lead to real-life violence,” according to the Huffington Post.

“Don’t ask me a question like that,” Tarantino said. “I’m not biting. I refuse your question.”

Tarantino must have felt he was being interviewed by movie reviewers who are flown to Hollywood and paid by the studio to sit at his feet and pay him homage.

In the Channel 4 interview, Guru-Murthy said he was just trying to get Tarantino to flesh out his stance on movie violence.

“It’s not my job to flesh it out,” Tarantino said. “I’m shutting your butt down. This is a commercial for my movie!”

Maybe Tarantino might need a media training refresher course on how to deal with tough questions.
