Popular morning co-anchor Erika Tallan has left CBS affiliate KOLN/KGIN-TV in Lincoln, NE to take a new job as a morning reporter at Kansas City CBS affiliate KCTV, according to a story in the Lincoln Journal Star.

Her last day at KOLN was Friday and she will start at KCTV on Monday.

“We are very excited to have Erika join our staff,” KCTV News Director Blaise Labbe told Bottom Line. “She has proven herself coming up through the ranks to become a very good journalist.”

Tallan joined KOLN, owned by Atlanta-based Gray Television, Inc., in December 2008 as a producer/reporter and was promoted to morning co-anchor in September 2010 on the station’s “First News Nebraska” morning show.

Tallan will be moving from the nation’s 105th largest market to the 31st and is reportedly leaving Lincoln to join her boyfriend, who attends medical school in Kansas City.

She is a graduate of Arizona State University with a degree in journalism and mass communications.
