Sloane Heller, who joined KSHB as a reporter in May 2008, recently announced on the air that she will be leaving the NBC affiliate. She did not say what she would be doing, but it is believed she will be leaving TV.
The station refused to comment on her departure.
(UPDATE 4/19): Tony Botello of the area’s most-read blog site tonyskansascity.com reports that Heller is now director of multi-media/communications at something called Front Flip.)
Heller reported for NBC Action News Today and NBC Action News Midday.
She began her TV career on-air at WHBF-TV in Rock Island, Illinois where she reported, shot, wrote and edited all of her stories.
Heller also was a booker at the Fox News Channel for three years before joining WOI-TV in Des Moines/Ames, Iowa, for about a year as a general assignment reporter before joining KSHB.
She is a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley.
