Scott Wilson, editor at The Pitch weekly since March 2011, captured an Association of Alternative Newsweeklies (AAN) Award this past weekend during ceremonies held in Detroit (LINK).
Wilson was The Pitch’s only nominee and took first place for Arts Criticism (circulation under 50,000) for his movie reviews of “Young Adult,” “Melancholia” and “Moneyball.” AAN received 1,108 entries from 90 of its member publications across the U.S. and Canada.
A Kansas City native, Wilson has previously served as managing editor at The Pitch for nearly three years. After five years as a freelance writer for the paper, he was hired as The Pitch’s copy editor in 2001.
