The KSHB 41 Action news investigators have spent several weeks examining exactly what transpired with the horrific JJ’s Restaurant explosion and fire and will air a special one-hour report on Wednesday at 9 p.m.
One person was killed in the blast at KC’s famed Country Club Plaza and at least a dozen were injured.
Titled “The Tragedy on the Plaza,” the KSHB team’s exclusive findings are expected to put together an accurate account of exactly what really happened Feb. 19.
WILL BE WATCHING
Wow..while the other stations chase fire trucks and police cars (and who knows WHAT the “newspaper of record” is up to), here’s an example of TRUE reporting.

HOUR OF PRIME TIME
If a station is taking an hour of prime time (off the ratings grid) and making the effort to go beyond the “lost dog” angle, it has my attention. If it wins an Emmy, that’s nice, if not, that’s fine too.

How much more can they really talk about this? A restaurant exploded, many were hurt, one woman died, they’ll need to rebuild. The constant coverage of this incident is overplayed. It’s sad that it happened, but just let it go, already. I bet if an incident like this happened any further east in Kansas City, the media would be struggling to care…
TIRED OF STORY
I’m glad that I’m not the only one that is tired of this story. It’s over and done. No need to make an hour long special about it. I’ll only watch if Jiao Jiao Jang hosts the show with Christa Dubill. Are there two hotter women on local news?
