    KSHB Reporter George Kiriyama, who joined the NBC affiliate in Kansas City in June 2002,  will become a general assignment reporter with KNTV, the NBC station in San Francisco, California. (market #6)

    Prior to coming to Kansas City, Kiriyama lived in Grand Rapids/Kalamazoo, Michigan. While there he worked for the CBS affiliate, WWMT-TV. In 2001, he was recognized by the Associated Press for Best Individual Reporting. He also won an honorable mention by the Michigan Association of Broadcasters for a series on surviving an economic slowdown.

    Kiriyama's broadcasting career also includes a stint as general assignment reporter for KWES-TV, the NBC affiliate in Midland/Odessa, Texas. His introduction into broadcasting began with two jobs he held during and after college - sports/news anchor and reporter for CitiCABLE 22 Torrance and, assignment editor/field producer for KCAL-TV Channel 9 in Los Angeles.
