“Could this be the end of e-mail overload?”
That’s the question dozens of local TV stations asked recently in nearly identical stories about the email simplifying service Shortmail.
That included KCTV’s Carolyn Long, who is part of a Conan O’Brien skit that makes fun of local anchors all repeating the same copy provided by a company called “Shortmail.” She appears around the 50-second mark of the video below.
O’Brien did a similar skit in November poking local stations for all using the same phrase “push the envelope” about him officiating a same-sex wedding.
The stations who used the phrase included affiliates of CBS, Fox, and NBC.

I caught a glimpse of Carolyn Long doing an interview the other afternoon with somebody about Winston Churchill’s Iron Curtain speech. She was simply incredulous that the speech was delivered in Fulton, Missouri. As I recall her response was, “Who knew??!!”
Sheesh. Who didn’t know?
