No matter what your age, there are few individuals who can say they never saw an episode of “The Twilight Zone” hosted by legendary icon Rod Serling.
And while Serling, who died in 1975 at the age of 50, is gone, one of Kansas City’s top freelancer writers, Dan Lybarger, had an opportunity to interview Serling’s daughter, who has just authored a new book titled “Another Dimension.”
Lybarger’s extensive article in the Huffington Post (and the video clips within in it) provide a fascinating view of one of our country’s top storytellers.

Thanks for the unsolicited plug. Serling’s writing means a lot to me and others, and getting to see the uncut episodes on Channel 9′s 2nd tier every night has been a real blessing. My girlfriend and I watch the show every Friday at 10:00 p.m. It’s our personal date night.
I should add that Ms. Serling is a total sweetheart. It’s also a full time job to keep track of all of her father’s stuff. Look at his IMDB page, and you’ll see it stretches for miles.
Sadly, she, her sister and her mom get only a tiny fraction of what they’re probably ethically (but not legally) entitled to from all of his work. It’s amazing how much she remembers about her dad, and it checks out.

I’m looking forward to the book. Several years ago, PBS did a fantastic show on Serling as part of its “American Masters” series. It can be easily found in sequential segments on YouTube.
