Rhiannon Ally, a University of Missouri-Kansas City graduate who spent much of her early TV career in Kansas City, has been named the morning anchor at Miami’s WFOR, the CBS affiliate, according to TV SPY.
Her husband, Mike Marz (he recently changed his on-air name from Marusarz) is an anchor at rival WSVN, Miami’s Fox affiliate
Ally most recently was on New York’s WCBS. She will co-anchor the 5-7 a.m. newscast at WFOR starting Feb. 13.
Following an internship with KMBC, Ally moved to WIBW in Topeka where she anchored its morning newscast from 2005 to 2007. She then moved to KCTV where she was a traffic reporter and substitute anchor for about two years. She moved to Meredith’s “Better TV” in August 2009.
Marusarz also worked at WIBW with Ally and spent five years as an anchor/reporter at KSHB. He reported for ABC News before taking the Miami position.
