Christopher tried to track down (1/23) former WDAF-Fox 4 co-anchor Harris Faulkner
to determine what she is up to these days. Co-workers at Fox 4 really don't care
what the self-centered anchor does (Christopher reports below she calls herself "Rock
Star") as long as she doesn't return to their station:
FROM HEARNE CHRISTOPHER: "Former Fox 4 anchor Harris Faulkner was elusive after getting axed from her high-profile anchor post on KSTP-TV in Minneapolis two years ago.
Instead of a call back from Faulkner, Berlin referred me to her agent in New York. Since then Faulkner and Berlin have moved to New York, where she landed a reporting gig on the syndicated tabloid news magazine “A Current Affair.” However, she was “blindsided” when the show went off the air last October. “I was faced with my second job search in one year,” Faulkner writes on her Web site, www.harrisfaulkner.com . “My husband and I were mapping out our plans to start our family and make a commitment to purchase a home in the New York area,” Faulkner writes. “So the timing was tough.” Based on past reports, it appears Faulkner is either poised to or may recently have turned 40 as her latest career crisis unfolded. Faulkner writes that she kept her name in the public eye via appearances on Court TV, CNBC and CNN. Her bottom line: “God knew right where I needed to be, (and) he put me there.” In December, Faulkner landed a gig doing news bites for the Fox News Channel, including during the prestigious Bill O’Reilly show. “She’s a prime-time news, cut-in anchor for the Fox News Channel,” says her agent, Gregg Willinger of the Willinger Talent Agency in New York. “In terms of news anchors, it is the highest profile possible.” Willinger declined to approximate the kind of money a cut-in anchor makes doing news bites on the highly rated cable channel, other than to say, “Fox News Channel pays their talent well.” Perhaps the new paycheck will enable Faulkner and Berlin to pursue their family dream. It may even ramp up her motivational-speaker biz, in which she has anointed herself with the nickname Rock Star. As for talking to Faulkner directly, “She’s very busy,” Willinger says. “The next time I talk to her, I’ll see if she has the time.”
