Michael Sipes

Michael Sipes, who was the News Director at KMBC-TV from 2000 to 2008, has been named the News Director at ABC affiliate KAKE in Wichita.

Sipes had replaced Brian Bracco as ND when he joined the Kansas City ABC affiliate. Bracco then moved to a new post with KMBC parent Hearst-Argyle Television and most recently took over the Vice President and General Manager post at KSHB-TV, KC’s NBC affiliate.

Sipes left KMBC for the News-Press & Gazette Broadcasting’s ABC affiliate KRDO in Colorado Springs. During his career he has been with WLKY in Louisville and in Jackson, Miss.

He is a University of Missouri graduate.
