TEXT TO ‘DANA & PARKS’ HELPS HOSTS PROVE A POINT

Sometimes listeners can really add to a conversation on talk radio and help the hosts make a point.

A classic example of that occurred Friday on the popular “Dana and Parks” afternoon radio show on KMBZ (980AM; 98.1 FM) when the discussion focused on distracted driving and how dangerous texting and and driving can be.

During the discussion on the “Radioactive” show a listener inadvertently texted a message (below) that most likely was designed for his girlfriend/mistress instead of either Dana Wright or Scott Parks.

The message to the duo said, “I bet UR wild in the sack.”

When the guy received an automated response from the station he immediately realized his mistake and texted “OMG sorry. Sent that to wrong person.”

When Dana Wright responded that she was “LMAOOOOO” the man responded again, “Sorry, sorry, sorry.”

Wright responded that she enjoyed the text. She also added that she was, in fact, good in the sack.

It made for great radio.

    IRRITATING IN SACK
Dana got it wrong. What she meant to say is that she would be IRRITATING in the sack. The same way she is on BZ.

    SHOW HAS GROWN ON HIM
I was skeptical when this show started. I was put off by some of the crudeness and what certainly seemed to be ill-informed hosts, but it has grown on me.

I actually like that they avoid many of the serious topics that they couldn’t impact anyway and instead have a more relaxed format that seems to fit the afternoon. The interaction of the folks in the studio is very good and it’s a very pleasant show to listen to most of the time.

    SEX WITH DANA
Only way you could enjoy sex with Dana is if you taped her mouth shut first.

    GOOD COMEBACK
Nice answer Dana! Good comeback no matter what some people say & I would of lmao too! nevermind the bad comments, obviously they are still tuned into the show!

  5. Scott Simon says:

    DRIVE-BY COMMENTERS
Just love the anonymous comments by LS and Jon. If you couldn’t say it to her face, don’t say it at all. Typical drive-by Internet editorial writers.

  6. Tom says:

    TRY SHOW AGAIN
maybe i’m missing something here. guess i will have to give their show another shot

  7. Pat Carlson says:

    MUST DISSENT
At the risk of taking the luster off a feel-good story, I must dissent.

The text does not prove a point about the danger of texting while driving (which is a danger). There is no evidence the text sender was driving when he sent the text. Nor is there any evidence that sending the text created a dangerous situation.

Of course, there also is no evidence that the text wasn’t sent by “Dana” or “Parks” or one of their producers.

I have listened to that show. I want to enjoy a local show, but I have had to quit listening to these two juveniles. Especially annoying is how these two irreligious people constantly use the name of G-d.

While it is true it might not have come from a driver, I would say it is likely a person made the mistake while driving where he could not pay full attention to what he was doing.

  8. Tim Clevenger says:

    SOLD THEIR SOULS
Dana’s quip does not surprise me. She & Parks have both sold their souls for ‘ratings’. Scott was much sharper when partnered w/Mike Shanin. But I guess he was just too old (and smart) for listeners. Now we’ve got this slut.

  9. Sticks and Stones says:

    JUVENILE NAME CALLING
I’m sorry, what do you have to base your accusation, “Tim Clevenger”, that Dana is a “slut.” Because she’s a liberal?

Name calling is so juvenile. I would think that someone who wishes for “the good ole days” of Shanin and Parks would be more mature than to stoop to levels of baseless accusations of promiscuity.

    NO SHANIN FAN
That’s all right Sticks and Stones. Many of the Shannin followers have stooped to posting these typically rude comments. The fact of the matter is Mike Shannin was a pompous ass. When listenming to the show it was evident that he did no show preparation, was winging it, and his frame of reference was the Reagan era.
Hmmm, I wonder why the show failed.

    • Mike T. says:

      CONSERVATIVE BLATHER
my opinion is that shanin and parks failed because it was, every.single.day.and.hour conservative blather. at least dana and parks take on more local issues and topics other than politics. (and you’re right, mike was a pompous ass. acts like that at kcpt too.)
