Rob Collins, who has been with WCIA-TV in Champaign, IL since 1996, will be joining WDAF-Fox 4 as a weekend co-anchor, sources have told Bottom Line.
Since 2005 he has been the morning anchor at WCIA, which is the highest-rated morning show in central Illinois. At WDAF he is expected to anchor with Kim Byrnes on weekend mornings, and Mary Pulley on weekend evenings starting this summer.
Collins, whose early career focused on sports, joined WCIA as a sports anchor/producer/reporter/photographer. He hosted University of Illinois football and basketball coaches shows and traveled as a reporter/photographer with the University of Illinois sports teams.
Following graduation from Texas A & M in 1995, he was briefly with KXII in Sherman, TX a sports reporter/photographer before moving to WIFR in Rockford, IL for nine months before joining WCIA.
