Anyone who has any roots in Cleveland will feel a little bit sadder today with the passing of TV icon Del Donahoo at the age of 90.

Donahoo was a friendly, folksy TV personality whose career spanned nearly five decades on WKYC-TV3.”Donahoo was best known for his “Del’s Folks” and “Del’s Feasts” features on Channel 3 News, and for 17 years co-anchoring the daily “Today in Cleveland” wake-up show with Tom Haley (who passed in 2009),” noted Tom Feran in The Plain Dealer in a wonderful tribute story.

“But he was equally famed for his warmth and for the tireless work ethic that awed colleagues a third his age.”
