Rhiannon Ally

ALLY DEPARTING KCTV5 FOR 'BETTER TV'
Rhiannon Ally, who joined KCTV5 News in December 2007 as the station's traffic and general assignment reporter, will do her final morning show (8/24) as she assumes a new position with 'Better TV.'
She will start her new position August 31.
Better TV, started in 2007 and headquartered in New York and Hartford, CT, has been called a TV version of "Better Homes and Garden" magazine and is owned by KCTV's parent company Meredith Broadcasting.
It advertises itself as "a nationally syndicated lifestyle TV show focusing on celebrities, fashion, fitness, finances, beauty, and all things to make your life better."
Better TV is currently in 52 cities with plans to expand to 100.
In many respects the Better TV program is similar to the old "PM Magazine" TV format that was popular in the 70's and 80's. Most Meredith-owned stations run a localized version of the Better TV show (i.e. "Better Mid-Michigan," "Better Arizona"
 and "Better Mornings Atlanta").
"I am thrilled to join 'Better TV' as one of its new on-air personalities," Ally said to BLC. "Having worked in my hometown (Kansas City) at CBS affiliate KCTV5, I am pleased to continue my professional relationship with Meredith Corporation.
"I'm excited to contribute to an already stellar team and be doing what I love with lifestyle and entertainment. Although I am moving to the east coast, people can still watch my work since I will be on 'My-KSMO' cable channel 10, Monday-Friday 8am-9am.

Following graduation from the University of Missouri (Kansas City) Ally went to CBS Topeka affiliate WIBW-TV as an anchor/reporter.
A Kansas City native, she attended Raytown South High School and is married to KSHB-TV41's weekend anchor and reporter Mike Marusarz, who she says will be racking up "lots of frequent flyer miles."
