SNICKERS' MR. T AD OFFENDS GAY GROUP
Advertising Age is reporting that a gay-rights group has forced Snickers to pull one of its "Get Some Nuts" commercials because the group felt it showed an effeminate man speed-walking and condoned violence against gays.
The U.K. spot (below) is one of a series of Mr. T ads and featured a scene where Mr. T machine-guns Snickers bars at a man and culminates with the tagline "Snickers. Get Some Nuts." According to Ad Age, "The Human Rights Campaign, summing up the sentiment of many in the blogosphere, said the bit condones violence against gays."
