VEESER JOINS KSHB SPORTS DEPARTMENT

        With the departure of weekend anchor Michelle Loibner later this month (see story) KSHB-TV 41 has hired Lance Veeser from NBC affiliate 27 News, KSNT-TV in Topeka where he served as sports director since May 2004.  He officially starts June 30.

    According to KSHB, Veeser will back up Jack Harry and Leon Liebl anchoring sports for NBC Action News, and will contribute regularly on the 38 Sports Spot. 

    Liebl (r) has been given the weekend anchor spot held previously held by Loibner.  Many KSHB staffers felt he should have been given the job instead of her.

Prior to joining KSNT-TV he was at  WSAZ-TV in Huntington, W. Va., where he was a sports reporter and photographer.  Veeser is a Michigan native and graduate of Marshall University.
