    Summary:  Toby Cook will be leaving the Fox 4 morning anchor spot to assume a VP position with the Kansas City Royals.  WHB's Kevin Kietzman (who used to work at Fox 4) said (7/13) it is a good hire and Cook "might be able to tell David Glass to wear some make-up before press conferences."  In a note to BLC Cook said the Glasses made the recent decision to revoke press credentials and he won't get involved.

TOBY COOK DEPARTS WDAF-FOX 4 TV TO JOIN ROYALS

    Toby Cook, who joined WDAF-TV Fox 4 in 1998 and has been in TV broadcasting for more than 20 years, will leave his morning anchor spot at WDAF-TV Fox 4 to assume duties with Kansas City Royals as the team's new vice president of public relations.  He will be responsible for the club's community and charitable efforts

      Cook's contract with Fox 4 recently expired. He will be working without one until his last day at the station on July 28. Then he plans to take a week off with his family and will start  August 7.

    In a note to BLC, Cook said he will not get involved in the recent decision to pull the credentials of radio reporters Bob Fescoe and Rhonda Moss. Cook noted that new GM Dayton Moore said the decision to revoke credentials was made by the Glasses so "that's all there is to say. Ditto for me."

    Cook, an anchor for 16 years, currently co-anchors WDAF-TV FOX 4’s weekday morning newscasts from 7:30-9:00 a.m. with Heather McMichael and also co-anchored the weekend evening newscasts with Kim Byrnes.

    Prior to joing WDAF, Cook  was a host and co-producer for the morning show at WSET-TV in Lynchburg, Virginia. He also co-hosted and produced the area’s first morning news broadcast at KOAM-TV in Pittsburg, Kansas.

    A graduate of  Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, Kansas, Cook recently was commissioned as a deacon for Lutheran churches in Kansas. A native of Independence, Kansas, Cook and his wife Barbara and three children live in Overland Park, Kansas.
