05-16-2009 CHROSTOWSKI NAMED TO HEAD STAR'S BUSINESS DESK Keith Chrostowski, a 34-year veteran of The Kansas City Times and Star, has been chosen to head the newspaper�s business news desk replacing Chris Lester, according to an article in the Kansas City Star by reporter Dan Margolies. Chrostowski, 55, has been named Assistant Managing Editor-Business to replace Lester who led the Star's business staff for more than 10 years before leaving in April to become a senior vice president at the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce. Chrostowski, who grew up in Kansas City, North, has been The Star�s news editor since September 2007, helping to oversee the front page and other news coverage. He joined The Kansas City Times, the company�s morning paper at the time, as a copy editor in June 1975 after graduating from the University of Missouri with a journalism degree. (His "Linked-In" Background.) Chrostowski lives in Parkville with his wife, former Kansas City Star managing editor Jeanne Meyer, who was laid off at the newspaper (LINK) in November 2008.
