KMBC & KCTV in dead heat.

KMBC & KCTV IN DEAD HEAT ON FINAL NIGHT OF SWEEPS
The February TV sweeps period is always a strange one.
When you toss in the Winter Olympics it becomes even more confusing to determine news ratings winners.
But one interesting aspect of this sweeps period (Feb. 4 through March 3) that ends tonight that perennial ratings leader KMBC-TV9 is in an absolute dead heat with rival KCTV5 at the all-important 10 p.m. news slot.
KMBC, Kansas City's ABC affiliate, has a 7.8 rating and 12 share for the sweeps period.  KCTV5, KC's CBS affiliate, is at an identical 7.8/12.

KSHB, thanks to the Olympic coverage pre-empting its 10 p.m. news, was at a lofty 17.5/26, while WDAF-FOX was at 5.5/9.

Stay tuned to see which station wins this horse race...
