Xavier (L) and brother C.J. Henry
06-30-2009
KCSP LANDS FIRST INTERVIEW WITH HENRY DAD

Carl Henry, the father of Kansas basketball recruit Xavier Henry and his brother C.J., appeared exclusively today on 610 Sports Radio on the Chris and Cowboy Show.  During the interview, he confirmed that Xavier only made a verbal commitment to KU, and intimated that the status of his sons commitment may still up in the air.

He also expressed his anger over a story that was done on his family recently in The Kansas City Star.

Rival WHB had announced it was going to speak with Carl Henry, but the interview fell through.
Audio (BELOW) provided by Chris and Cowboy- 610 Sports Radio- Kansas City

Will an article by Kansas City Star reporter J. Brady McCollough result in two highly-touted University of Kansas basketball recruits deciding to play at
another college?
Or is the family simply using the article as an excuse to keep the bidding war for their star offspring alive and well?  Only time will tell.
Ironically, the father said in the KCSP interview that McCollough's story was accurate, but that he didn't like the way he was portrayed. In other words, he was expecting a puff piece.
