10-08-2009/10-12-2009 DAN MARGOLIES DEPARTING KC STAR FOR REUTERS Veteran Kansas City Star reporter and Legal Affairs columnist Dan Margolies stunned co-workers today when it was announced he will be leaving the newspaper for greener pastures at the Reuters news agency in Washington, D.C. His last day at the Star will be Oct. 23. Margolies spent 9 years at the Star and 16 years with the Kansas City Business Journal. When asked to confirm or deny Margolies' departure, "Dollars and Sense" Editor Steve Rosen proved once again that media people are the worst at media relations, "Why should I help you?" Unfortunately, the Star's Business Editor, Keith Chrostowski, is on mandatory furlough this week. According to Justin Kendall at the Pitch (LINK), Margolies' new title will be senior correspondent, financial crimes. He will even sometimes travel abroad on international stories, Margolies is a 1978 graduate of the Boston University School of Law.
