FOX 4 DELIVERS STRONG VIEWER DEMOGRAPHICS
WDAF-TV’s FOX 4 News is Number One in most key demographics in newscasts throughout the day, according to a news release issued by the station today.

The results, according to the Nielsen 2011 February sweep ratings measurement period, portray WDAF as the favorite news station among heavy news users.
    Among adults 25-54 and adults 18-49, WDAF ranked #1 with news viewers (M-F) 5 am-9 am, 6pm and 9-10pm.
In fact, at 6 p.m. and 9 p.m., FOX4 News was #1 in women and men 18-49 and 25-54. And, M-F 10-10:30 pm FOX4 ranked #2 in all 18-49 and 25-54 demographics during the February 2011 Nielsen survey period.

“It is gratifying to know that FOX 4 news is the most popular and most watched news (station) with viewers in Kansas City. We are extremely proud of the impressive demo growth for all of our shows,” says Cheryl McDonald, WDAF president and general manager of WDAF-TV FOX 4.

The ratings success at FOX 4 was not just confined to the mornings. The 6 p.m. news had impressive share gains year-to-year, especially with women 25-54 (up +40% share/+5 share points) and women 18-49 (up +59 % share/+6 share points). At 9 p.m. women's key demos grew +20% and +38% share, respectively.
  "The bottom Line is
it's a two-station market in news," says an industry insider comparing FOX4 and KMBC in the Kansas City market.
"Demos are what stations sell to advertisers. The key audience they're most interested in are women 25-54 and both FOX4 and KMBC did very well there."
