CJ JANOVY LEAVING PITCH FOR KU POST
CJ Janovy, editor at The Pitch the past 10 years, has announced that she will be resigning to take a position as Director of Communications at the University of Kansas Medical Center.
The news was stunning for many people who have worked with Janovy over the years, particularly those who consider her going from an alternative weekly journalistic position to public relations a jump to the "dark side."
As an editor, her disdain of PR people was obvious.
    "I
can't believe CJ is selling out," a former colleague noted. "I NEVER thought she would."
Janovy, who has been with The Pitch for nearly two decades, said she will be at the alternative weekly a few more weeks before starting her new position.
"I am profoundly grateful for the experiences I've had at The Pitch, for the people in this city who continually open up to us about their lives, and for my extraordinarily gifted co-workers," she wrote.

DIPLOMACY PROBLEM
   "
When money and benefits are being dangled, the "dark side" seems a lot more appealing....Prediction: It won't last long. The lady has a diplomacy problem, cultivated and sharpened on the other side."
---Jim Fitzpatrick
