Summary: After months of searching for a replacement for popular morning talk show host Van Patrick, KCMO-710 AM has announced that Chris Stigall, staffer to conservative Congressman Sam Graves, will be its morning anchor starting 9/12. Stigall has been a long-time radio sub at various Kansas City stations. SELECTION OF STIGALL SIMPLY $$$$$ DECISION? More than four months ago Cumulus radio announced it had purchased KCMO-710 AM. Shortly thereafter popular morning talk show host Van Patrick was fired after protesting that one of his staffers was let go for no reason other than in a ruthless corporate cost-cutting measure. After several months of on-air rehearsals to replace Patrick, the station announced that Chris Stigall, long-time substitute host and Republican staffer for Congressman Sam Graves, will take over the key morning slot. One observer said it was an obvious way for the station to save money. "You take away Patrick's six-figure salary and that of his staffer and replace it with a guy making less than half of that and you save a buttload of money," he said. "Of course, you get what you pay for. It's disgraceful, especially in a top 30 media market." On his first show (9/12) Stigall interviewed Rush Limbaugh's brother David one question was: "David, I firmly believe that many people watched and will be influenced by the TV series 'Path to 9/11.'
