“Frank Boal's experience and knowledge combined with that of Jack Harry and Lance Veeser will clearly differentiate us from the other television sports departments.  We may not have the games but we'll certainly have the story."    ----Peggy Phillip, news director for NBC Action News.

BOAL JOINING HARRY ON CHIEFS COVERAGE
In a single move, KSHB-NBC Action News has successfully paired the leading sports journalists in Kansas City by announcing that veteran Frank Boal will join Jack Harry on Kansas City Chiefs and NFL coverage this season.

The two legends have nearly 70 years experience between them.
Boal will appear on NBC Action News each Saturday and Sunday beginning September 11.
Viewers can catch him every Saturday on NBC Action News Weekend Today from 8:00-10:00 a.m. and Sundays on NBC Action News at 5 and 10 p.m., where he will team with Harry on NBC Action News.
Boal, 63, who was the sports director at WDAF-FOX4 since 1981 until his "retirement" in June 2009, has covered every major sporting event in the past three decades in KC, including the KC Royals' World Series Championship in 1985. Since leaving FOX4 he has been a regular guest on sports talker WHB-810 AM.
“What an incredible opportunity," said Boal. "Not only do I get to work alongside the legendary Jack Harry and his staff, but I also get to work for a television station that understands the impact sports has in this community. I can’t wait to get started.”

Harry, sports director at KSHB since 2002 has covered sports for nearly 40 years.
Prior to joining NBC Action News, he was Sports Director at KCTV where he'd served in the position since 1978. During his career, Harry has served as Sports Director at WDAF, a position he held from 1970-73.
Also a regular guest on WHB, Harry started his broadcasting career in Quincy, Ill, working as a disc jockey for WGEM and as Sports Director at KHQA-TV.
Harry and Boal have garnered virtually every sports honor that can be given.
In fact, Harry was named the winner of the prestigious Joe McGuff "Sports Journalist of the Year" in 2007.
Boal won the McGuff award in 2008.
