BLC PRINCIPAL FEATURED ON 'TIM GRUNHARD' RADIO SHOW John Landsberg, principal at Bottom Line Communications, was the guest for an entire half-hour segment on the "Tim Grunhard Show" on KCSP-610 AM (6/14) with co-hosts Doug Franz and Grunhard. He spoke in his dual role as a member of the Kansas City Press Club and as the principal of a public relations firm regarding the revocation of media credentials of two radio reporters by the Kansas City Royals. Key points of the interview included: * The Kansas City Press Club stepped in because it is a neutral third party. We would like to have all parties smooth this over and return the credentials. * There are probably dozens of professional sports teams across the country watching how this plays out. If the Royals can eliminate tough reporters then there will be targets on other members of the media. * As far as a sports media market, Kansas City is far easier than New York, Cleveland, L.A., Detroit, Philadelphia, etc. * Public relations folks have ways of punishing reporters they don't like by limiting access, giving scoops to competitors, etc. * KCSP has done an admirable job of standing up for Rhonda Moss on this issue and should be commended. WHB cannot necessarily say the same thing. |
