Morning Traffic Anchor Ally Francis joined KCTV5 News in November 2004. Ally
produces and reports morning traffic for KCTV5’s “More In The Morning”, the
station’s Monday – Friday 5 - 7 a.m. newscast.
Prior to KCTV5 Ally worked at Metro Networks as a news writer and traffic
reporter. Ally also worked for two years at 101 KCFX-FM in Kansas City as
morning show host.
Ally is a graduate of the University of Missouri, Kansas City
where she received a B.A. in Chemistry. A native of Kailua, Hawaii,
Ally enjoys ice skating, playing guitar, running, hiking and spending time with
her two children.

Guilty plea entered by former TV personality
A former TV personality has pleaded guilty to helping
defraud Associated Wholesale Grocers of more than $650,000, the U.S. attorney’s
office reported.
Arlene “Ally” Francis, 45, a former traffic reporter for KCTV, pleaded guilty
Monday in federal court to four counts of money-laundering, U.S. Attorney Eric
Melgren’s office said.
Prosecutors say fake invoices were submitted to Associated Wholesale Grocers for
goods and services that were not provided. The wholesaler is based in Kansas
City, Kan.
The sentencing for Francis, who resigned from the TV station in July and could
not be reached for comment, will be Nov. 13. The Parkville woman could be
sentenced to 20 years in prison and fined up to $500,000 for each count, the
U.S. attorney’s office reported.
Trials are pending for the three other defendants — Aponte Gomez, 45, Parkville;
William Morrison, 42, Escambia, Fla.; and Crystal Hall, 25, Barling, Ark.
