You have to hand it to the folks at WGN-TV for a truly whacky station promotion for its morning team that makes fun of themselves and takes some direct shots at their competitors in the Chicago market in a hilarious manner.
It ends with the tag line, “We put the suck in succceed.”
The station promo (below) is extremely creative and urges viewers to tune into the station’s morning show for its “robots, transvestites, giant vegetables, and lots of explosives.”
One might give the WGN folks high marks for their creativity. However, it seems very likely the station “borrowed” the idea from the “Dollar Shave Club” video (also below) that has turned into an Internet sensation with nearly 5 million views.
See any similarities? Thought so.

This sounds like just more of the same old same old from the juvenile-oriented folks who seem to be in charge of many of America’s TV and radio stations these days. A good TV or radio station should stand out without having to resort to a lot of “bells and whistles.” In short, act like you’ve been there before, conducting yourselves like true professionals.
succceed?? Where is your spell check? Where are your editors? Sorry just had to bust your you know whats!
