As reported earlier today by Bottom Line, a strong final night helped KMBC capture the July TV Sweeps period even though the station was off Time Warner Cable for 10 straight days.
Below are the ratings for Wednesday along with the final rolling totals.
While KMBC won the ratings crown, there should be some celebrating at KSHB, which had an excellent ratings period. The NBC affiliate was not particularly strong in mornings, but finished second to KMBC by a scant 3/10ths of a point at 5 p.m. and just 2/10ths of a point at 6 p.m.
Possibly most surprising was KSHB finishing second at the important 10 p.m. time slot, taking over the second spot generally held by KCTV, which had a disastrous book. KCTV finished third at 10 p.m. and then the CBS affiliate was last or second-last in every other time period in the day.
KCTV will be bringing in a new morning team in August in the hope of turning those ratings around.

TV’s still pretty much of a wasteland these days no matter who’s trying to redirect eyeballs toward the Idiot Box.
