Stacey Cameron, a hard-hitting investigative reporter at KCTV in Kansas City since 2010, is no longer at the station after his contract was not renewed, sources have told Bottom Line Communications.

Cameron, 43, also confirmed on his Facebook page that he is no longer at the CBS affiliate:  ”So I’m now a free agent … anyone care to bid for my news and/or informational services?”

A graduate of Indiana University with a law degree from the Syracuse University College of Law, Cameron has a reputation of being a tough and often abrasive interviewer.

Before joining KCTV he was with WRAL in Raleigh, NC as a general assignment reporter for a year and WCHS & WVAH in Charleston, West Virginia, for a year.

    KC MARKET
Clearly, Kansas City is no longer the place to work if you desire some form of stability.

    KSHB needs a News Anchor.

    TOUGH BALANCE
It’s tough to be abrasive and confrontational in the field and get along with everybody at the office. Or, maybe they’re just going in a different direction.

    COULDN’T RELATE TO HIM
I never could relate to this guy.

Clearly, he is intelligent and capable, both as an attorney and a reporter. Yet, whenever I saw him give commentary, I almost always disagreed with his opinion.

The kicker was when I saw him on Week in Review, defending the Royals for charging money to go to its job fair. Please!

    KCTV OR TMZ?
I think a lot of people tuned out KCTV a long time ago when they were sensationalizing news and weather. They left the impression they’re from TMZ.
