Jerry Cosley, one of the most respected public relations practitioners ever in the Kansas City area, passed away on Saturday. He was 76.
During his lengthy career Cosley was the vice president of corporate communications at TWA for several years, as well as the vice-president of communications at Sprint Corporation and UtiliCorp United. He was the consummate professional at all times and handled his communications duties flawlessly.
His first love was aviation and he continued to be involved in TWA activities long after the company closed. One of his great joys was being able to take a balloon ride on the RE/MAX balloon above Overland Park.
Most recently a resident of Excelsior Springs, MO, his visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m., Thurs., Oct. 11, at the Hidden Valley Funeral Home, Kearney, MO (816-903-8888).
Services will be at 10 a.m., Fri.(10/12) at the United Methodist Church in Kearney. (Burial: Lathrop Cem. Hidden Valley Funeral Home & Cremation Services.)

NOTE FROM FRIEND
The words “pro” and “respected” certainly describe Jerry. “Fun” and “enjoyable” also come to mind from my days working with Jerry.

A MENTOR
No words can properly describe Jerry. He was a mentor of mine and taught me how to navigate the corporate waters with grace and a sense of humor. Rest in peace my friend!

A SPECIAL FRIEND
Jerry was a special friend of my husbands.
They had many years of telling jokes, and reliving their adventures. I am sure they will
meet again in HEAVEN!!!!!!!!!!!!
A DECENT MAN
A good and decent man. He was a pleasure to work for and be around.
CONSUMMATE PRO
Jerry was a great guy with a one-of-a-kind smile. He was also a consummate professional. He’ll be missed.
FORMER STAR REPORTER
I always enjoyed working with Jerry when I covered TWA as a reporter for The Star back in the day. He always went out of his way to help me get the information I needed to do a good job. And while Jerry took his job very seriously, his relentless sense of humor added an extra dose of fun to the mix.
