02-03-2010 LEN DAWSON WILL REPRESENT KANSAS CITY AT SUPER BOWL The current edition of the Kansas City Chiefs will be nowhere near the Super Bowl this Sunday in Miami, however, Kansas City's favorite son---Len Dawson---will be there participating in the live trophy presentation to the winning team following the game. The Hall of Fame quarterback, who led the team to its only Super Bowl victory 40 years ago on January 11, 1970 (Super Bowl IV; a 23-7 victory over the Minnesota Vikings), will carry the Vince Lombardi trophy to midfield and hand it off to NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell for the formal presentation to the victors. Dawson is in his 25th season providing color commentary on the Chiefs Radio Network and has served 43 years as a sports anchor at KMBC-TV, Kansas City's top-rated ABC affiliate. Dawson continues the tradition of Super Bowl legends participating in the Lombardi Trophy ceremony, which began with Bart Starr?s participation in Super Bowl XL. Other participants have included Coach Don Shula (Super Bowl XLI), Doug Williams (Super Bowl XLII) and Joe Namath (Super Bowl XLIII).
