After less than a year on the morning talk slot at KMBZ (98.1FM/980 am), Chris Merrill will be leaving to join San Diego’s KOGO, according to the radio site All Access.
In March 2011 Merrill’s “Voice of Merrill” show replaced syndicated talker Glenn Beck’s show from 9-11 a.m. weekdays at Kansas City’s Entercom station.
He will take over the 3-7 p.m. weekday slot at KOGO starting tomorrow (2/21), replacing veteran Bryan Suits at the Clear Channel station.
Merrill came to Kansas City by way of Lawrence, KS, Arizona, Nebraska, Colorado and Michigan after studying theatre at Western Michigan University and Political Science at Fort Hayes State University.
Sources have told Bottom Line that Merrill will continue to do his show from San Diego for the next four to six weeks while a search is conducted for his replacement.
