Beth Vaughn, who joined KSHB-TV three years ago as a multi-media reporter, will be leaving the NBC affiliate to co-anchor the morning news at WRTV-TV in Indianapolis.
WRTV is the ABC affiliate in Indy and KSHB and WRTV are both part of the Scripps TV Station Group.
Vaughn’s last day at KSHB will be Dec. 21 and she will start her new anchor job in Indy on January 7.
Chris Pisano, who had been with KCTV for seven years until he was abruptly let go in 2010, had moved to WRTV where he had been the morning co-anchor until this past March. Pisano’s co-anchor at KCTV was Dana Wright, who is now an afternoon radio co-host on KMBZ-980.
According to the Mediabistro site, Vaughn will be joined by Marc Mullins, who will be leaving his job at KMTR in Eugene, OR, to join her on “Good Morning Indiana.”
Vaughn came to KSHB after a stint at KSNT/KTMJ in Topeka.
She told Bottom Line she looks forward to becoming a Hoosier.
“KSHB has been my home for the past three years,” she said. “My team works hard and gets results. Leaving Kansas City and my fellow 41 Action News staff will be tough! I’m proud of the work we’ve done together.
“However, I’m enormously excited to stay within the Scripps family for my move to Indianapolis and the opportunity at RTV6 allows me to anchor and report. My husband and I look forward to exploring a new city and beoming Hoosiers!”
She is graduate of the University of Illinois.
