After 16 of the 20 days of the July sweeps things are really get interesting as KMBC tries to regain its ratings title despite losing a major chunk of its audience to a dispute with cable provider Time Warner for several days where it lost a significant share of its audience.
As of Thursday below are the ratings for TV stations in Kansas City.

Hmmm…it’s still pretty damn close though. KSHB has one the 5 and 6pm spot either way; they lead it practically every single day since KMBC left, so it’s obvious that even if they’re not #1, they’re still Kansas City’s second preferred option over KMBC, and are now even their most direct competitor there.
If anything, KMBC’s only consistent bright spots anymore are the morning and night. The evenings have become and all out brawl to say the leas, with KMBC starting to get to get beat up the most (a trend that’s already been occurring now for a while).
Oh yes. Also? Having a title that says “KMBC RUSHES TO STRONG JULY FINISH” heavily implies that the sweeps are over and that KMBC came from way back behind after being off Time Warner for ten days to win every timeslot, which they haven’t done and probably won’t do. It’s misleading, sorry.
