Alexis Del Cid, who has been the morning show and noon show co-anchor at KOIN-TV, the CBS affiliate in Portland for eight years, will join KCTV’s “It’s Your Morning” team as its new co-anchor. She will officially sign on August 1.
   Del Cid will join co-anchor Matt Stewart on the newscast and replace Kelly Jones, who has been the morning co-anchor since April  2010 and will now host a new lifestyle show on the CBS affiliate debuting in September.
    KCTV’s morning show has been suffering in the ratings for several ratings periods, and is currently dead last in the KC market after six days of the current May TV sweeps period.
   Before joining KOIN, Del Cid served as a reporter and anchor at KPLC-TV in Lake Charles, LA. She began her broadcast career as a general assignment reporter at WMAQ, a radio station in Chicago and later worked in Champaign, IL, and Albuquerque, NM.
   “Her enthusiasm, journalistic integrity, community involvement and investigative background make her a great choice for It’s Your Morning,” said KCTV News Director Blaise Labbe.
   Del Cid, a graduate of the University of Iowa, is married to realtor Salvador Del Cid and they have a son.  She water skied competitively for 13 years in Wisconsin.
