ZIEMAN: NO CURRENT PLANS FOR STAR TO CHARGE FOR CONTENT
Derek Donovan, Readers' Representative at the Kansas City Star responded (11/12) to queries from readers (and an earlier report on this site) that the newspaper recently issued updated "Terms of Service" which included the possibility of charging for content on its Web site.
Via Donovan Star Publisher Mark Zieman issued a non-committal public relations response where he said there are "no current plans" to charge for content. A definition of "current" was not forthcoming.

The passage in question stated that "there may be certain content available via subscription or surcharge, and such content will be clearly marked."
    "
I asked The Star's publisher if there are any current plans to charge for content," noted Donovan, "and he told me that isn't the case."
