SportsRadioKC.com LAUNCHES NEW WOMEN'S SPORTS SHOW Kansas City's new online sports radio station, SportsRadioKC.com, will launch a new show called "She's Got Game" dedicated to women's sports. The show, which will be hosted by Brenda VanLengen, a nationally recognized women's sports broadcaster based in Kansas City, will debut Friday (2/5) from 1-2 p.m.(CT). The show will feature women’s sports in Kansas City, the Big 12 region, and beyond. “Sports talk radio, in general, has virtually ignored women’s sports," says VanLengen. "I’m really impressed with the team at Sportsradiokc.com and their desire to reach out to fans who appreciate the athleticism, the skills, the strategies and star power of women’s sports.” The inaugural show will launch with a live remote from the "National Girls and Women in Sports Day" celebration at the WIN for KC Women’s Sports Award luncheon at the Hyatt Regency in KCMO.The first show will feature women’s sports legend Billie Jean King, Big 12 Commissioner Dan Beebe and a representative from the #4 ranked University of Nebraska Women’s Basketball team. “Brenda has covered more Big 12 Women’s Basketball games, since the inception of the league, than any other announcer, and has been part of the women’s sports scene in Kansas City since 1995," says Chris Garrett, president of SportsRadioKC.com. "We are excited to have her join the Sportsradiokc.com team. "Her passion for sports, in general, and women’s sports, specifically, coupled with her broadcast experience, is what will make this show a huge success.” VanLengen is a 15-year veteran women’s sports broadcaster and has served as a game analyst for NCAA women’s basketball on ESPN, Fox Sports Net, CBS College Sports, and Metro Sports locally, plus WNBA coverage on NBATV.She has also served as analyst for the Big 12 Conference package on Fox Sports Net since 1998.In addition, she has called the Division II National Championship Game the past five years and has broadcast NCAA Division I Tournament games since 1999.
