09-16-2009 BLC EXCLUSIVE WDAF-FOX 4 HAS NEW WEEKEND ANCHOR LINE-UP BLC has learned that WDAF-TV FOX4 in Kansas City has firmed up its weekend anchor line-up with Stephanie Hockridge and Dave Froehlich as its new evening anchors, and Kim Byrnes handling morning duties, according to sources. Hockridge has served as a reporter for weekday evening broadcasts. Prior to joining FOX 4 she was in Charlottesville, VA, where she anchored the 5, 6, and 11 p.m. newscasts for CBS19. She also served as the executive producer of the 11 p.m. newscasts there. Born and raised in Dallas, Hockridge graduated with honors from the University of Missouri School of Journalism. She started working in the broadcast field as a radio reporter in the Jefferson City Statehouse Bureau, where she covered political issues. Her reports aired on NPR, KMOX, and KBIA. Froehlich joined FOX 4 as a general assignment reporter in May 2007. Following graduation from the University of Texas he landed a morning show production assistant job at KPRC in Houston before moving to Grand Junction, CO. where he was hired as a sports reporter/anchor. A few months later Froehlich switched to news reporting and stayed there during his years in Amarillo and Corpus Christi, where he spent most of his time as a morning and noon show anchor before joining FOX4. Byrnes, who will anchor weekend mornings, has been a reporter for the station's weekend morning shows since joining the station in 1997. She began her career at FOX4 as a general assignment reporter before being promoted as anchor of the weekend evening shows. Byrnes has also worked as an anchor, reporter and photographer in Springfield, MO. and Pittsburg, KS.
