TV stations will do anything for a live shot (if there is any doubt watch all the ridiculous coverage of the announcement of Andy Reid joining the KC Chiefs today).

Twin Cities TV reporter Lee Valsvik at KARE11 TV was knocked over hard while doing a silly live shot at a Minneapolis restaurant in advance of Saturday night’s playoff game between the Minnesota Vikings and the Green Bay Packers won easily by the Packers.

The TV crew wore Vikings gear and decided to run a play right in the restaurant. Valsvik took a such hard hit she fell hard on a table and ended up on the floor.

She said she wasn’t hurt, but you can guarantee a lawsuit if the station ever decides to let her go. You also have to wonder how well liked Valsvik is at the station…

    ANOTHER SAY IN SILLYVILLE
I guess she was just trying to be “one of the boys”. Oh, well, it was just another day in Sillyville (i.e., the world of local TV news).

    TV IS ENTERTAINMENT
Just one more example — as if anymore are needed — that TV “news” is, first and foremost, about entertaining an audience.
