Former Kansas City Star sportswriter Joe Posnanski will join his former co-worker and current Star political writer Steve Kraske on his KCUR (89.3 FM) show “Up to Date” from 11 a.m. to noon on Wednesday (9/12) to discuss his highly controversial new book “Paterno.”
The book examines legendary Penn State football coach Joe Paterno, who was considered an icon until it was discovered his assistant coach Jerry Sandusky was molesting young boys. Posnanski has been widely criticized for not being more critical of Paterno, but his book is number one on the New York Times’ bestseller list. Former co-worker and Star columnist Jason Whitlock and many others have written negative reviews of the book.

Within three months, Paterno died of lung cancer, a tragic end to a life that was epic, influential, and operatic.Paterno is the fullest description we will ever have of the man’s character and career.
