Former KMBC anchor/reporter Jeremy Hubbard is anchoring at KWGN in Denver these days and his station recently unveiled a new set that he says “looks like a ski lodge,” according to TV SPY.
“We have a brand-new set,” KDVR-KWGN anchor Deborah Takahara announced on Monday, during KWGN’s 7 p.m. newscast. “[It] really embodies our station, our brand, and our image: ‘Colorado’s Own.’”
“Yeah, it looks like a ski lodge around here,” added Jeremy Hubbard, Takahara’s co-anchor, alluding to the new set’s rustic stone pillars and homey accents. Hubbard, a Wichita State graduate, worked at KMBC from 1998-2004.
The new set, designed by FX Design Group, marks the climax of a significant rebranding effort that ramped up a year ago under VP of news Ed Kosowski, who joined KDVR-KWGN last June.
Which Kansas City TV station will design a new set with a barbecue pit working in the background?  Stay tuned…
