Jack Harry, KSHB-TV 41, 38 The Sports Spot, 810 WHB A legend in Kansas City, sportscaster Jack Harry has been covering sports in the area for the past 32 years. Jack joined NBC Action News in June of 2002 and was named Sports Director shortly thereafter. As Sports Director, Jack covers sports for the 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. newscasts on NBC Action News, and hosts 38 Sports Spot on sister station 38 The Spot.
Prior to joining NBC Action News, Jack was Sports Director at KCTV where he had served in the position since 1978. In the early years of his career, Harry served as Sports Director at WDAF, a position he held from 1970-73. He started his broadcasting career in Quincy, Illinois working as a disc jockey for WGEM and as Sports Director at KHQA-TV.
Over the course of his career, Jack has been play-by-play announcer for a number of athletic events, hosted various sports shows, served as a sporting analyst, and covered numerous World Series games, Final Four tournaments, and PGA Tournaments. Long time Chiefs fans will remember Harry as host of the Hank Stram Show, and subsequently the Marv Levy Show.
In addition to being Sports Director at NBC Action News, Jack can be heard on Sports Radio 810 WHB as a weekly guest commentator on Between the Lines with Kevin Kietzman, and as host of a weekly Chiefs post game show.
