CONSULTANT JOURNALISM

Fabulous choice! Another producer, EP, blah blah who wouldn't know how to cover a news story if someone gave her an instruction booklet, is running a newsroom. Think about it: Producers and EP's spend their careers doing exactly what consultants tell them to do. The consultants are mostly former news directors who were fired because they failed to improve ratings-- and/or because they were so inept at dealing with people that they created a horrible work environment.
Because these producers and EP's are trained for the most part to stack shows, writes teases and shorten reporters' stories without regard to content, they are usually at odds with anyone trying to perform the act of journalism at their stations. After two years as news director with another KC station, she "leaves" and signs on with a consulting firm! Three years later, armed with all the latest double-talk and social media strategies (I'm sure), she gets hired by another KC station.
I wonder if she'll do everything her new station's consultants tell her to do (like hire a bunch of cheap, young, leggy female talent, and cover less sports and more entertainment stories.) I wonder if the people at KCTV are rolling their eyes. I know I am.

QUESTIONS HIRE
If WDAF did hire her all I can say is WTF?!? This move was obviously one that came from corporate. Why would you hire a news director who basically failed to move the meter at the competition?
