Viewers are used to seeing the on-air people on their TV stations, but many don’t realize there are all kinds of people behind the camera who make the whole operation run successfully.
Nicole Erickson has been one of those behind-the-scenes people at KMBC for 16 years as a Promotion Writer/Producer, and she will be leaving the ABC affiliate at the end of the month. Her last day will be November 2.
“I’m so excited to be joining Forward Sports Marketing, where I will be doing marketing for several NHRA Drag Racing teams and sponsors,” she told Bottom Line Communications. “I’ll be here for another couple weeks, then it’s off to the races!”
Erickson’s family is heavily involved in drag racing. Her parents own and operate Clark Head Gaskets (in photo with her father), her brother JR works for a race team and her brother-in-law builds cars.
Erickson joined KMBC on a part-time basis in March 1996 following graduation from the University of Minnesota with a degree in communication arts. She later transitioned into a full-time position at the station.
