Alexis Del Cid, the spunky co-anchor on KCTV’s “It’s Your Morning” show, will try to pull off a unique trick today.
Del Cid will have root canal surgery at 8 a.m. and then plans on doing KCTV’s “News at Noon” at the CBS affiliate.
Will she be able to pull it off?
Bookmakers are rumored to be developing odds on whether she will actually be able to do the news or if she will simply sit at the anchor desk with a blank stare and drool…
UPDATE: Del Cid pulled it off like a champ and did the noon news with co-anchor Dave Hall without any obvious side effects.
KCTV/KSMO News Director Blaise Labbe thinks the former champion trick water skiing performer could pull it off.
“Yes it is true she has to have an emergency root canal,” he revealed to Bottom Line. “She wanted to come back and do the noon show and her dentist believes she can. She really is a trouper and it speaks volumes about her and her commitment.”
While Labbe expressed confidence Del Cid can pull it off, the veteran newsman has a back-up plan just in case.
“If she is unable to do the noon show Carolyn Long will fill in for her,” he added.
